Past Projects

Ray Holman Heritage Collection:

The project’s goal was to record music of Ray Holman, one of the most prolific composers of steel drum music worldwide, that carries historical and cultural significance reflecting the steel drum instrument’s narrative over spanning several decades. This collection of music includes small ensemble with vocal interpretations of his earlier original works, circa 1970, through current compositions. The vocal versions of these compositions offer a very important narrative of the development of Ray’s music through not only the steel drum but also of Trinidad past and present cultural events. This project was completed in the spring of 2019 and the album First Love is available HERE at Ramajay Records.

Pan People Music Festival

This festival took place during the summers of 2015 and 2016 on Denver's Auraria campus. The festival showcased local and regional steelbands, both student and professional. A viewing of PAN! Our Music Oddessy was featured in 2015, and pan vendors promoted their products and publications at the event. The festival was free to the public both years that it occurred.

Pan Ramajay Summer Steel Drum Workshop

The Steel Pan Collective served as a sponsor for the workshop from 2016 through 2018.
